Komatsu starts in Yaroslavl

One of the largest assembly plants in Russia is going to start its work coming autumn. The Komatsu plant construction has been finished this week.

The first set of ecskavators (about 300 units) will be produced untill the end of the year. The plan for next year when total power will be reached is 3000 of ecskavators and 7000 of loaders. The Japanise investors want to recoup this project in 5 years.

“We are planning to invite our customers and show them the manufacturing. This people - thousands of people - will not just visit the plant. They will also eat Yaroslavl’s bread and salt.”

Attraction of investors is one of the main targets of Yaroslavl region government. This summer construction of a Nicomed Pharm. plant is going to begin.

Video Week #4, April 26th — May 2nd

This week was a beginning of hot days series. From 26th of April until 2nd of May I every day took approximately 10-15 seconds clips. And you can see seven places of Yaroslavl (map):

Day 1, the crossroads of Pushkina and Respublikanskaya Streets.
Day 2, our Circus on Svobody Street
Day 3, children after school
Day 4, military hardware
Day 5, Svobody street again
Day 6, Globus Hypermarket in Zavolshskiy district
Day 7, just Moskovskiy prospekt near RIO mall

Lots of Yaroslavl Music Bands had been founded while their musicians were studying together in universities. Complane is one of such groups. Nice instrumental music from Physics Department of State University.

Complane is a fresh experimental music and, at the same time, alternative jazz project. There is no any sponsor, and it is the reason of doing the project themselves and they have ability to create everything what they want. There are only two musicians, who have a really genuine interest in difficult music.

They have very interesting attitude about music and the word as the whole:

One of our priority aims is to show through our creativity an importance of each person individuality. We make protest against a silly following the crowd, when people imitate each other and afraid of expressing own opinion. Making our music we say no to war, say there is no envy and harted between people and we support creation of the world.

The cast is very interesting and quite unusual. They mix together melody of keyboard instruments and impulsiveness of drums. The bounds of music are very wide: they mix bossa nova, funk, alternative, progressive and fusion. They call the style of their music as Intellectual Alternative.

Their project is very young, and they still open to experiment with audio, music styles and they are gradually making new fans.

Integrated transport card

A great air traffic problem, appeared after Icelandic volcano eruption, shows that the international transport system has to be changed. Igor Levitin, the transport minister of Russian Federation, proposed to introduce an unified ticket for all transports in Europe.

While the Europeans think, the Yaroslavl locals do! In May an integrated transport card is going to be introdused. It will replace paper tickets of all kinds of urban transport. By the way, special smart-cards for trolleys and trams already excist. One more step in this direction — combined two-kinds cards. Bus+trolley and trolley+tram are the most popular types. Plastic tickets have the same price as the paper ones. You are only have to overpay for the card itself — 38 rubles. Then just refill it.

Local government is very satisfied with the new tickets. They help to track the number of passengers due to different parts of the day. This information can be used to correct the scheldure of urban transport. But the main point is profit increment, of cource.

Yaroslavl is going to wallow in flowers in its anniversary!!!

This year there are much more participants of the action “Yaroslavl in bloom” than last one. Many people - leaders of different businesses, workers of pedagogical and medical units, clergy representatives - plan to take care about their territories in the beginning of spring. Yaroslavl is one of famous leaders of territories greenery in Russia and it is said that this year it will become as bloomy as it has never been.

“All of us start to understand and value our surrounding,” - said Galina Nikitina, chief of the action ”Yaroslavl in bloom”, head of the urban social movement ”Yaroslavl - 2000”.

The list of objects for Yaroslavl anniversary replenished by one more investment project. In the begining of the summer a huge mall called Tandem is going to come in sight. It will offer a various choice of construction and finishing materials, furniture, sport stuff, household appliances and gardening.

To realize the grandiosity of the project just imagine: its’ overall square is about of 7 football fields! There will be 4 comfortable floors for shops, stores and offices.

One more point, which Tandem is going to have, is its position. It will be quiet easy to reach the mall by new roads constructed, as well as Tandem, due to the anniversary.

It is supposed that the new mall will be visited by about 20000 people per day! Wow! Large mall in the center of the city!

Yaroslavl Video Week #2, March 25th — March 31th. We are excited to carry on our videos project. This week had first really sunny days.

We have the detailed map of each day:

Day 1, the bus stop on Pervomayskaya street. It is one of the busiest place in Yaroslavl.
Day 2, on the bus line “9T” which goes from Kresty to Tyre factory.
Day 4, Kresty — it is the end of Moskovsky prospekt and the entrance to the city.
Day 5, Pobedy street — it is the city center near our football stadium.
Day 6, the opposite site of the place from Day 1 — Komsomolskaya street.
Day 7, it is just a pedestrian crossing on Ushakova street.

Moskovsky Prospect Becomes Wider!

Moskovsky Prospect reconstruction has approached to the peak. The builders have started the most difficult part, that is the road widening under the railway bridge. It is going to be 6 traffic lines there instead of the 4. The work will start in next few days.

There are two backstays on the sides of the bridge. The idea of the roads’ widening is to move this backstays farther to the sides. The project was approved by the Railways.

Unfortunatelly, the traffic will be rather inhibited during the roadwork. By the way, it is said, that public traffic will not have much problems. Due to the work plan, at first the traffic will be limited on the right side, then it will switch the role with the left one.

And as usual, the most troubles will have the local car owners. The railway bridge on Moskovsky Prospect is the place of many traffic jams. After the roadwork beginning the situation will become even worthe. And now lots of motorists are going to use circuit on Frunze Prospect to reach the center of Yaroslavl.

But as allways, we hope for the best.

I would like to present another idea which — sure! — connected with Yaroslavl. How much did you see Yaroslavl videos? Or have you ever seen them? Now it is possible, because it is absolutely fresh video project: every day I make no more than 10 seconds clip and each week you can see one compilation!

The first week was from March 18th until March 24th. By the way, you can see all points on one map.

Day 1, Svobody Street with quite a crazy driver.
Day 2, Mendeleeva Street. It was near the mall “Lotos-M”.
Day 3, in out lift. In Russian lift.
Day 4, Moskovsky prospekt in the big mall “RIO”.
Day 5, and Svobody Street when it was very rainy on morning and there was snowstorm at night.
Day 6, Svobody Street with very sunny day.
Day 7, Pobedy Street.
